Human Givens Psychotherapy has taken what works from a range of therapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and applied recent brain research to provide an effective and brief intervention building on strengths and moving towards positive futures by clarifying client’s goals and wishes.

Human Givens Psychotherapy helps clients look outwards rather than inwards so that they are more able to get their emotional needs met and therefore feel emotionally healthy. The most important part of Human Givens Therapy is to help clients understand about the connection between emotional health and physical symptoms and then have strategies to manage them. Relaxation is key to positive emotional well-being as emotional arousal can keep you locked into negative patterns of behaviour. Lowering emotional arousal through relaxation allows us to think clearly and come up with our own solutions.
