Linda Pike
Associate
Qualifications and experience
Linda joined Futureminds due to her passion and enthusiasm for helping people with emotional difficulties using the tools of counselling and psychotherapy to help people overcome a wide range of problems.
Linda has nearly 20 years experience working as a counsellor and began this journey in 1989 when she began working for relate and gained her certificate in couple counselling. Linda worked with adults who were experiencing relationship difficulties, this sometimes included bereavement, family breakdown, poor communication, newly structured families, depression, sexual counselling and domestic violence. Linda has also worked with a range of childhood mental health issues including school phobias, self harming, anxiety, low self esteem, eating disorders, anger management bullying and child protection issues.
More recently Linda has worked in a GP's practice and as part of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) which is a multi disciplinary team where team members can exchange ideas and work together to help children and their families. Collectively the team has a high level of success in helping those children with attention and concentration difficulties or communication problems such as ASD develop more control and ability to lead a normal life without the need for medication. Linda uses relaxation techniques to help people overcome their levels of concentration and control.
Linda has a sensitive but firm approach believing that each person has a unique way to solve and overcome difficulties. Linda strives to assist each person or family group to find their own way and strongly believes that if she can assist them to achieve this in as short a time as is realistically possible, then the success speaks for itself.
Linda has lived and worked in the Midlands for most of her life and has 3 grown up children who live independently.
